With teams scheduled to play state semifinal games Friday morning, two area schools are planning Thursday send-off celebrations.
Madison County will cheer on its softball team at 1 p.m. Thursday at the high school. The Mountaineers will face Holston in the Division 1 semifinals at 10 p.m. Friday at Radford's Veterans Field.
William Monroe has its own send-off for the baseball team scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at the high school. The Greene Dragons also play at 10 a.m. Friday, against John Battle in the Division 2 state semifinals.
