Western Albemarle football hasn't been the best football team in the area over the past few seasons, but they haven't been the worst either. Mediocrity seems to be the best word to describe the Warriors, but this season Western head coach Ed Pierce thinks it will be different.
This season marks Pierce's third season at the helm of Warriors Football, and he has a solid core of experienced players. On the offense, Stephen Shuler is the quiet leader at quarterback, and linebacker Mitchell Parks anchors the defense. Pierce is hoping this core group of players will be a catalyst for the team and translate into more wins by the time the playoffs roll around in late November.
