Western Albemarle entered Friday's road game against Fluvanna with an unblemished 3-0 record. Coming off a bye week, the Warriors hoped to keep up their winning ways. While Fluvanna was looking to hand the Warriors their first loss of the season and open their Jefferson District schedule with a win.
After a blocked punt gave the Flucos good field position, Ryan Foster connected with Ya-Ya Anderson on fourth down for a touchdown. The Flucos took an early 7-0 lead.
Western would respond two plays later when Stephen Schuler found Christopher Drapanas down the far sideline for a Warrior touchdown, tying the game at 7-7.
Still in the first quarter, more from the Warriors as Schuler rolled to his right and threw an off-balance pass to Dom Losco who shakes a defender and dives into the endzone to give Western a 14-7 lead.
Now to the second quarter, and the Warriors starting the show why they are undefeated on the season. Schuler rolled right again, throwing across his body to the left, and finding Nick Kuzjak for a touchdown. Western took a 21-7 lead.
The Warriors would go on to win the game 34-21 over Fluvanna. Western Albemarle (4-0) will play host to Louisa next week, while Fluvanna (1-3) will travel to Monticello.
