Both Louisa and Western Albemarle entered Friday night's game with winning records, and both won their Jefferson District openers last week. However, only one team would leave Friday night with a perfect district record.
Steven Schuler threw three touchdown passes in the second quarter to lead the unbeaten Warriors to a Jefferson District triumph over the Lions.
Schuler finished 19 for 40 for 252 yards and three scores. Two of his touchdown passes found Dom Losco (9 catches 98 yards) and Cody Davis, who also scored on a 42-yard fumble return in the first quarter. Davis' fumble return was one of five turnovers forced by Western Albemarle (5-0).
Kire' Worley hit Rayshawn Jackson with a 49-yard touchdown pass to prevent the shutout for Louisa (3-2).
Louisa will play host to Orange (2-3) next Friday, October 9, while Western Albemarle will play in its second straight FNE Game of the Week when they travel to Charlottesville (3-2) for a clash between two undefeated Jefferson District Teams.
