Friday Night EndZone: Week 2

September 9, 2011

Week 2 of the high school football season saw a handful of local schools take the field for their season openers, including the Louisa County Lions. After having its first game postponed due to damage from the earthquake on Aug. 23, Louisa hosted rival Orange in our Game of the Week.

The Lion sprinted to a 21-0 first quarter lead and never looked back, beating the Hornets 48-21 to win the annual "Battle For The Gordonsville Tastee Freeze".

In other local action, St. Anne's Belfield did not get its State Championship defense off on the right foot, losing 32-27 to Bishop Sullivan at home. William Monroe moved to 2-0 on the young season with an impressive road win over previously undefeated Spotswood, 27-24.

Below is your Week 2 FNE Football scoreboard round-up and a look at our Week 3 matchups.
