Mustangs Host Lions in Jefferson District Marquee Match Up

October 28, 2010

If there's one thing that the 5-3 Monticello Mustangs do well, it's running the football. The Mustangs rely heavily on running back Jesse Ayres who's contributed 1171 yards rushing to go along with an area's best 20 total touchdowns.

Monticello will need that type of production on Friday.

The Louisa Lions hold a perfect 8-0 record are looking to build on their resume on the turf at Monticello.

The Lions have a strong running game as well. Starting with multi-threat quarterback Kire' Worley and running backs Anthony Hunter and Rayshawn Jackson. Jackson has over 635 yards rushing and six touchdowns while Hunter has chipped in with 14 total touchdowns this season.

The Lions and Mustangs face off at 7:30 p.m. on the turf field at Monticello High School on Friday.
