Warriors Up to No. 6 in State in Latest AP Poll

Unbeaten Western Albemarle continues to climb the Associated Press statewide Group AA football poll.

The Warriors, who improved to 8-0 with a 42-0 win at Waynesboro last Friday, moved up one spot to No. 6 in this week's poll. Western moved up after Heritage-Lynchburg fell from fifth to seventh, following a 19-17 loss at home to Brookville (the No. 1 team in the poll) last week.

The Warriors travel to Fluvanna County this Friday.

Goochland received four points in this week's Group A poll. The Bulldogs host Buckingham County -- which fell out of the Group A top 10 following the Knights' loss to Central-Lunenburg two weeks ago -- this Friday.
