Woodberry’s defense stood tall and its offense put together a balanced day as the Tigers rolled to a 52-13 win over Kiski Prep out of Pittsburgh Saturday afternoon.

Four different Woodberry players threw touchdowns, with Jacob Rainey, Hunter Etheridge, Christian Zaytoun and James Hewell all completing scoring tosses. Etheridge went 5-for-7 for 72 yards as the starter while Rainey and Zaytoun were each 3-for-3. Zaytoun threw for 55 yards while Rainey piled up 44 yards. Hewell’s 40-yard toss to Sam Miller early in the third quarter put Woodberry up 35-7.

The Tigers’ ground game was in rhythm too, piling up 191 yards on 37 carries by nine different ball carriers. HT Minor had 36 yards on seven carries and Hewell went for 76 yards on six carries.

Even while surrendering a pair of long touchdown runs to Kiski’s Raekwon Wright — 83 and 55 yards respectively — Woodberry held Kiski to 242 yards of total offense. The Tigers created a lot of pressure on the quarterback, with Kiski quarterback Darrik Martin taking the brunt of the beating, finishing with negative 55 rushing yards.

Woodberry piled on the points early, building a 28-7 halftime lead, and the Tigers never slowed down, putting another 24 after the break.
