Orange County's Hunter Returns to Gridiron at JMU

April 7, 2012

Orange County graduate Quintin Hunter is back on the college football field after nearly a year away. The James Madison University junior missed all of last season with a torn Achilles tendon, one he injured last March. Now, the Dukes will again rely on Hunter to contribute to the wide receiving core.

"I really think he's having a really good camp," said JMU head coach Mickey Matthews. "He's catching the ball over the middle. He's not a speed merchant but he runs great routes, he catches the ball in a crowd, he's an excellent blocker."

Hunter played in nine games for the Dukes in 2010, catching six passes for 116 yards. The wide receiver transferred from Virginia after his true freshman season in 2009. Hunter played both quarterback and defensive back at Orange and was listed as the country's No. 22 athlete by Rivals and No. 81 by ESPN his senior year.
