It had been seven long seasons since Blue Ridge beat rival STAB. That all changed Friday evening when the Barons completed a 7-2 regular season with a 35-12 victory over the Saints. Coach Patterson stopped by the studio to talk about the win.
While Blue Ridge was just four days removed from its first loss of the year against Christchurch, the Barons were able rebound with a 37-20 win over Virginia Episcopal, the top-ranked VIS Division 3 team.

The top-seeded Fluvanna boys basketball team won a thriller over fifth-seeded Charlottesville in the Region II semifinals. Defending VIC Champion Blue Ridge also advanced to the VIC title game with a big win over Liberty Christian Academy in the semifinals.
The Miller boys beat defending Group AA Division 3 champs Brunswick and the Covenant boys drilled 14 3-pointers in an overtime loss to Hampton Roads Academy.
Fork Union Quarterback Christian Hackenberg and St. Anne's Belfield Tailback Branford Rogers were among those named First-Team All-VISAA selections. Twenty-five other local standouts joined them as First-Team, Second-Team or Honorable Mention picks.
Blue Ridge's Lance Grey was named Falcon Club Player of the Week. The Barons' quarterback threw for three touchdowns and ran for a pair in a big win over Atlantic Shores.
