There will be plenty of family ties in play Saturday when Virginia hosts Richmond in their season opener. UVa quarterback Michael Rocco and his uncle, Richmond head coach Danny Rocco, will face off from opposing sidelines.

There will also be a number of Rocco family members in the stands, including Dave Rocco, the Covenant head football coach who is Danny's brother and Michael's uncle.

Dave says this is the first head-to-head match-up in the family since the 1997 Fiesta Bowl, when he was a graduate assistant at Penn State and Danny was an assistant at Texas.

Dave says he will stay neutral on Saturday and wear Covenant colors to the game, while other family members plan to wear a mix of UVa and Richmond gear. He also says he'll be rooting for both sides to play well.

"When you go to watch the game you really don't know who you're truly going to root for. I guess you're just rooting for my nephew to do well at quarterback, and rooting for Richmond to do well. I hope my brother doesn't get mad, but I know if Michael starts doing pretty well, I'm going to want Virginia to do well."
