Fork Union Military Academy held a combine today for its football players that hope to move on to play at the college level. Approximately 120 coaches from all across the country visited the Estes Athletic Center to watch the Blue Devil athletes and size up their skills.
Among the participants today was Morgan Moses, who committed to Virginia last year, but has been on the fence since Al Groh's firing. Moses took an official visit to South Carolina this past Saturday and is keeping his options open. When asked about Virginia's hiring of Mike London, Moses' answer was optimistic.
"I've just gotta talk to Coach London, see how everything's going and all," Moses said. "Me and coach [John] Shuman are just taking it one step at a time."
"He's a good coach, you know, he has changed programs around at Richmond," he added. " I look forward to sitting down and talking with him."
Fork Union head coach John Shuman is also optimistic about Moses and Virginia as well.
"I think Morgan is excited about the hire. I think he's excited about the University of Virginia," Shuman said.
As for London, he's been busy during his short tenure as Virginia's head coach. London locked up his first commitment in quarterback Michael Strauss, a three star athlete from Miami. Strauss had committed to Tulane, but switched to Virginia on Monday night.
