Senior defensive end Chris Long is one of four finalists for the Rotary Lombardi Award, given to the top lineman in the country. Long is the first finalist in Virginia history for the honor.
Long currently is fifth in the nation with 1.20 sacks per game, and ranks second in the country among defensive lineman with eight passes defended. He is the reigning ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week.
The other three finalists for the honor are defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey of LSU, linebacker James Laurinaitis of Ohio State, and offensive tackle Jake Long of Michigan.
The Lombardi Award will be presented on November 5th in Houston, Texas.
