Sarah Harper had nine kills and 18 digs as the Western Albemarle Volleyball Team knocked off Broad Run in the Region II Quarterfinals tonight, 3-1. The Warriors only falter came in game two, when the Spartans pulled even with Western with the 25-16 win. Lance Rogers's squad responded with two straight wins to end Broad Run's season, and advance to the semifinals. The third seeded Warriors improve to 22-1 on the year, and will travel to number two Millbrook on Thursday in semifinal action.
Meanwhile, the Fluvanna Flucos were not as fortunate, as they fell to James Wood tonight in quarterfinal action. Down 1-0, Fluvanna grabbed a win in game two, but could not hold off the Colonels' charge in the final two frames. The Flucos conclude their season with a record of 17-4.
