Senior center Tunji Soroye had arthroscopic knee surgery to repair damage cartilage in his left knee. It is unknown how exactly Soroye injured his knee, but he will be sidelined for six to eight weeks while he recovers from the procedure.
Despite the loss of Soroye, Dave Leitao has a list of players he hopes will step up in the senior's abscense. Ryan Pettinella and Jerome Meyinsse are two names the Leitao mentioned during his press conference this morning.
Virginia tips off against Vermont on Sunday at 2:00.
