The Cavalier Women's Soccer Team's hopes of an ACC Title ended tonight, as Virginia fell to North Carolina in penalty kicks. The Cavs will await an NCAA Tournament berth on Monday.

Virginia took a 1-0 lead in the first half, when Meghan Lenczyk found the back of the net. Shannon Foley's corner kick was headed by Becky Sauerbrunn right to Lenczyk, who scored her sixth goal of the season.

North Carolina pulled even in the second on a Nikki Washington penalty kick that tied the score at one. After two scoreless overtime periods, the Tar Heels took the match in the shoot-out by a 4-2 score.

The Cavs fall to 11-3-6 on the year.
