The Monticello football team has only won a Jefferson District title once in the history of the school. Two years ago they shared the crown with two other teams. Friday night the Mustangs defeated Charlottesville, 55-22. The Mustangs end the season undefeated in district play and take home the Jefferson District title. They will host the first round of playoffs next Friday.
William Monroe and Louisa both entered Friday's game with only two wins under their belt. The Lions defeated the Greene Dragons, 43- 22. Kendall Davidson had four touchdowns in the Lions' victory. The Lions finished district play at 3-3. William Monroe finished out at 1-5 in the district.
The Fluvanna Flucos were unable to finish the season with a number in the win column. The Hornets defeated the Flucos Friday night, 49-13. The Hornets finish district play at 5-1. They finished second in the Jefferson District.
The Albemarle Patriots hosted Riverbend for their final game of the regular season. The Patriots defeated the Commonwealth District newcomers, 41-27. Josh Hill finished with 174 yards and four touchdowns. The Patriots finished their season at 5-5.
