The Western Albemarle Volleyball Team fell in the state quarterfinals tonight to Grafton, 3-1. The Warriors finish their season at 23-3, the best finish in school history.
After falling in the first game, 25-21, Western rallied for a 25-14 win in game two. Grafton put a stop to the Warriors' hopes, though, winning games three and four, 25-17 and 25-15, respectively.
Laura Wilson paced Western with eight kills and 15 assists, while Sarah Harper added 14 kills. Jessie Carter chipped in seven blocks, and Asia Linton had 25 digs.
This was the best season in Warriors Volleyball history. In addition to their 23-3 finish, Western made it past the regional quarterfinals for the first time in program's history, and advanced to the state tournament for the first time as well.
