When the Cavalier Football Team battles Virginia Tech on Saturday, they will be going up against a team that is outstanding away from home. Since joining the ACC in 2004, the Hokies boast a 14-1 record in conference road games. Virginia Tech finished 4-0 on the road in both the 2004 and 2005 seasons, and was 3-1 away from Lane Stadium last year, only falling at Boston College.
The Hokies also are excellent against conference opponents in November. Virginia Tech is 11-1 in November against ACC teams, and are 3-0 against Virginia since joining the ACC. The Cavaliers will be looking to top the Hokies for the first time since 2003, as Virginia Tech has won seven of the last eight meetings between the two squads.
Kickoff for Saturday's contest has been set for noon.
