Cavalier Men's Soccer Stays Alive with Comeback

Dane Murphy scored the eventual game winning goal in the second half, and Jeremy Barlow dished out two assists, as the Cavalier Men's Soccer Team came from behind to beat Saint Peter's, 3-1, to advance in the NCAA Tournament. Virginia stays alive and will head to West Virginia on Wednesday.

The Peacocks took a 1-0 lead into halftime, after Braulio Constantino scored in the 30th minute. The Cavaliers came out firing in the second half, out-shooting Saint Peter's 17-2, and finding the back of the net three times.

Ross LaBauex tied the game at one with his header in the 51st minute. LaBauex scored off a Chris Tierney throw in. Murphy put the Cavaliers ahead in th 77th minute with his first goal of the season. Murphy has now scored four career goals, three of which have come in the postseason. In the 84th minute, Tierney added insurance for Virginia with a goal of his own, leading the Cavs to a 3-1 win.

The Cavaliers record improves to 12-7-1 on the season. Virginia will travel to Morgantown to take on the 15th seeded West Virginia Mountaineers.
