The Monticello Mustangs are two wins shy of a state title, and will take the field tomorrow in state semifinal action. Standing between them and the chance for state gold is Poquoson, the Region I champions out of the Tidewater District.

Poquoson enters at 8-4, and will look to be the roadblock in Monticello's historic run. The Mustangs are 11-1, and won the Region II title by knocking off John Handley in the regional semifinals, 21-17, and rolling past Millbrook in the regional championship, 56-34, in a high scoring affair.

Monticello will come in with an arsenal at offense. Quarterback Michael Graham has matured throughout the course of the season, and has key weapons with running back Takeem Hedgeman, and wide receiver Daniel Lieb. Hedgeman became Central Virginia's all time leading rusher earlier this season.

The winner of tomorrow's semifinal match up will advance to the AA Division Three state final at Liberty University, and face the winner of Brookville and Richlands. Log onto our web channel, wcav.tv, for complete highlights and coverage of tomorrow's action.
