In just ten games as a Division I college basketball player, Mike Scott is working himself into Dave Leitao's system. Scott made his first career start last night, and showed signs of being a big time player for Virginia.
Scott set career highs by scoring 15 points and playing for 20 minutes. He also pulled down six rebounds in the Cavalier victory against Hampton last night. The freshman forward is averaging 6.8 points per game on the season, and his 6.2 rebounds per contest are good enough for second on the team behind Adrian Joseph's 8.3. He is also becoming a very reliable free throw shooter, converting on 22 of 26 free throws.
Scott and the Cavaliers will return to action on Saturday, as they welcome Elon to John Paul Jones Arena. Tip off is set for 2:00pm.
