The Charlottesville Boys Basketball Team was unable to start a winning streak, as the Knights fell to Orange tonight, 56-42. This marks the third loss in the last four games for Charlottesville.
In other Jefferson District action, Hines Banks had 17 points to lead Monticello past Western Albemarle, 48-44. Banks was a perfect seven-for-seven from the free throw line.
Fluvanna was able to hold off William Monroe tonight, 62-56. Julian Ramirez led the way with 16 points in the wind. The Flucos held an eleven point lead after the first quarter, and held off a late Dragons comeback to seal the win.
In the Commonwealth District, Andre Roberts scored 14 points, but it was not enough for Albemarle, as the Patriots fell at North Stafford, 46-39. Albemarle falls to 6-7 on the season, 4-2 in the Commonwealth District. They will take on Brooke Point on Tuesday.
The same two teams on the girls side, with a similar outcome, as North Stafford stopped the Patriots, 53-40. Kaya Francisco led Albemarle with 12 points, while Katie Tubridy had eight.
In the private circuit, Covenant had a tough battle with Steward, but the Eagles fell, 43-40. Ellen Smethurst had 14 points in the loss.
