Monticello running back Takeem Hedgeman will continue his football career at the college level, as he has selected Norfolk State as his school of choice. Hedgeman helped the Mustangs win the AA Division Three State Title this past season.
Hedgeman tallied nearly 6,400 yards throughout his career, including 2,892 yards his senior season, good enough for a Central Virginia record, and fourth all time in VHSL history. Hedgeman also found the end zone 51 times, which is a state record.
The senior scored at least two touchdowns in every game that he played in this past season. He narrowed the college search down to Norfolk State and Hampton, but ends up choosing the Spartans when all is said and done. We will have more on Hedgeman's college choice later in the week.
