Kevin Leatherwood scored 23 points, while Maurice Jackson added 21, as the Charlottesville Boys' Basketball Team topped Harrisonburg, 59-54. It marks the Knights' second straight victory.
The Blue Streaks got out of the gate strong, jumping out to an 8-2 lead, which was quickly erased by four Charlottesville three pointers, three by Jackson, the other by Leatherwood. The Knights quickly took the five point lead, and held on for the win.
Leatherwood scores his 23 points on his 17th birthday.
On the girls side, Charlottesville was victorious as well, topping William Monroe, 77-55. Shawntae Payne was the story in this one, scoring 38 points, while Shalita Brown added 21.
