Orange and Monticello went back and forth the entire night, but the Mustangs held on for the win, 50-47. The game was highlighted by Marvin Mills' half court shot as time expired in the third quarter.
Charlottesville got 29 points from Kevin Leatherwood, as the Black Knights topped William Monroe, 64-45. Omari Minor added eleven points of his own in the victory. As for Leatherwood, he has now scored 52 points in the last two games.
Western Albemarle had no trouble with Louisa tonight, topping the Lions, 71-43. The Warriors started the game on an 11-0 run, and extended the lead for the comfortable win.
Ryan Lench scored 21 points and Brett Goodloe added 18, as Saint Anne's Belfield topped Trinity Episcopal, 71-58. Marcus Terrell scored 12 points to put three STAB players in double figures.
Albemarle could not grab a Commonwealth District win tonight, falling at Stafford, 47-45. The Indians took the win on a last second lay up. Cameron Anderson scored 12 for the Patriots in the loss.
The Miller School faced a tough test in Oak Hill tonight, and hung in with one of the best programs in the country, but could not hang on long enough for the win. The Mavericks fell to Oak Hill, 71-65.
In girls action, Katie Tubridy posted 18 points for Albemarle, as the Patriots held off a late Stafford comeback to escape with the 56-53 win. Kara Elder added ten points of her own. Albemarle held a 15 point lead in the third quarter, and proved to need every bit of it come the final buzzer.
Western Albemarle topped Louisa, 46-33. Mary Schwartz scored a game high 14 points, while Shannon Bayliss added nine.
