Maurice Jackson scored 27 points, as Charlottesville topped Western Albemarle tonight in its regular season finale, 77-67. Kevin Leatherwood added 21 points in the Black Knights' win. Charlottesville started the game off hot, on a 14-1 run, and ended the first quarter up 16-3. The Warriors battled back, with the Knights holding them off for the ten point victory. Charlottesville finishes its district schedule at 9-3.
The Black Knights moved into first place, as Fluvanna upset Monticello, 83-65. Terrell Scott scored 17 points, and Xavier Holland chipped in 16 for the Flucos, as they knocked the Mustangs out of the top spot in the district. Charlottesville takes the half game lead. Hines Banks tied Scott's game high of 17 points in the loss.
Orange kept pace with the district leaders, topping Louisa, 68-64. Quintin Hunter scored 20 points in the Hornet victory. Justin Coleman had a big night for the Lions in the loss, posting 26 points. The Hornets and Monticello are both 8-3 in district play, each a half game behind Charlottesville.
In Commonwealth District action, Albemarle needed overtime, but stopped North Stafford, 57-56. Jake Hochstetler led the Patriots with 14 points in his final home game. Cameron Anderson added 13, while Andre Roberts chipped in eleven.
