Mamadi Diane's clutch three-pointer with 45 seconds left helped lift the Cavaliers past Boston College on Sunday, 79-74. With the victory, the Cavs improve to 2-9 in the ACC and end a 7-game losing-streak.

Diane led the Cavaliers with 20 points. Sean Singletary added 16. Lars Mikalauskas came off the bench to score 13 points on 6-of-7 shooting.

Virginia trailed 19-9 in the first half, but went on a 16-2 run and led by eight points at halftime. Boston College would tie the game at 40, but never regain the lead. With the Cavaliers leading 71-67 with 67 left in the game, Tyrese Rice hit a three pointer to pull the Eagles within one. But Diane answered at the other end with 45 seconds to play.

The Cavaliers two ACC victories come against BC. Virginia travels to Georgia Tech on Thursday.
