The Cavalier women's basketball team departed Charlottesville this afternoon for Norfolk, where Virginia will tip off in NCAA Tournament action. The Cavaliers are the fourth seed in the Greensboro Region, and will take on 13th seeded UC Santa Barbera on Sunday night at 9:30.

The Wahoos are making their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2005, when they were eliminated by Minnesota in the second round. Sharnee Zoll was a member of that team, and will look to lead Virginia deeper into the bracket this time around

The Cavaliers enter at 23-9 on the year, and are ranked 24th in the country. They will face a Gauchos squad that they are 1-1 all time against. The two teams have not met since 2001. The winner will advance to take on the winner of Old Dominion and Liberty in second round action.
