The 14th ranked Cavalier baseball team puts its six game conference winning streak on the line this weekend, as they travel to Florida State. This is a match up of two of the ACC's best teams.
Virginia enters with an overall record of 24-6, and is coming off a 7-6 loss to Towson last night. In conference play, the Cavaliers are 8-4, and have won their last six ACC games by sweeping both Boston College and Virginia Tech.
Meanwhile, the Seminoles come in with an overall mark of 25-3, and topped Jacksonville on Wednesday. Florida State is 11-1 in the ACC, and boasts a number six national ranking. They lead the conference in many categories, including batting average, hits, RBI, and home runs.
This weekend's series with Florida State is just the beginning of a pivotal month for the Wahoos. Next weekend, Virginia heads to Maryland, before returning home for a series with 2007 ACC runner up Wake Forest. The Cavaliers cap off April with a trip to current Coastal Division leader Miami.
As for this weekend's series with the Seminoles, game one gets underway tomorrow at 7:00.
