Greg Miclat went 4-5 and scored three runs as the Cavalier baseball team shut out Longwood, 6-0. The win improves Virginia's record to 25-9, and ends the Wahoos' four game losing streak.
Jake Cowan posted a solid performance on the mound for the Cavs. Cowan threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball, allowing only five hits, while striking out five to get the win. Matt Packer threw the final 2.2 innings to get the save.
As for Miclat, it marked his third four hit game of the season. He also grabbed a stolen base as well.
Virginia ended its first four game losing streak since 2005 with the victory. The Cavs will host Liberty Wednesday night at 6:00, before departing for Maryland for a weekend series this weekend.
