Ben Rubeor and Garrett Billings scored four goals each, as the Virginia men's lacrosse team topped Maryland, 11-8, in Friday's ACC semifinals. The Cavaliers advance to take on Duke in the conference championship game on Sunday. Duke topped Virginia during the regular season.
The two teams battled to a 3-3 tie after one quarter, and Virginia took over from there. The Cavaliers put up three goals in the second to take a 6-3 lead into halftime. The two teams scored three goals each in the third quarter, and Virginia held off the Terrapins for the 11-8 win.
Virginia and the Blue Devils will battle on Sunday at 3:30 in a rematch of last season's ACC title game. Duke took that game, 12-9, in Durham.
