Former Cavalier tight end Tom Santi was selected by the Indianapolis Colts today in the NFL Draft. Santi was the 30th pick in the sixth round, and now aims to earn a spot on the roster.
Santi was the Cavaliers' leading receiver last season. He led Virginia with three touchdown receptions, 418 receiving yards, 11.6 yards per reception, and 34.8 receiving yards per game. He was the number one tight end for the Cavaliers for three seasons, and proved to be a key blocker as well.
The tight end was the third Cavalier selected in the 2008 NFL Draft. Chris Long was taken second overall by the St. Louis Rams, while Branden Albert was selected 15th overall by the Kansas City Chiefs.
