The Cavalier men's lacrosse team is gearing up for its NCAA Tournament first round game on Sunday, as Virginia battles UMBC. Virginia is the tournament's second seed, and will look to avoid the same fate as last season.
In 2007, the Cavaliers entered as the number two seed, only to be upset by Delaware in the first round. This came just one season after Virginia won the 2006 national championship. This season, however, Dom Starsia feels that his team is more experienced, and more ready for the playoffs.
Virginia is 14-3, and fell in the ACC Championship game its last time out. With a win, the Cavaliers will face the winner of Maryland and Denver at Navy. Click on the above video link to hear Starsia's thoughts on UMBC.
