Staley to Take the Reigns at South Carolina

Former Cavalier women's basketball star Dawn Staley will be named the new head women's basketball coach at South Carolina on Saturday. Staley has spent the last eight seasons at the head of the Temple bench, and now takes her act to the SEC.

During her time as the Owls' head coach, Staley led them to four Atlantic 10 titles and six seasons of 20 wins or more. While at Virginia, she helped the Cavs compile a 110-21 record during her four years. She enjoyed an eight year WNBA career, and won three Olympic Gold Medals. Last season, the Gamecocks went 16-16, earning a berth in the WNIT. Stay tuned to CBS19, as we will let you know when the announcement becomes official.
