The Cavalier rowing team advanced all three of its boats in qualifying action on Friday. Virginia is in search of its first ever NCAA title, after finishing second last season. The Cavs won their ninth consecutive ACC title, and took home the South/Central Region as well.
Virginia's first varsity eight finished second in its heat, advancing to tomorrow's semifinals as did the second varsity eight, which finished third in a separate qualifying heat. The varsity four boat won its heat, meaning it can bypass Saturday's semifinals, and earns a berth in the finals on Sunday.
Semifinal action picks up on Saturday morning at 11:00am eastern time in Gold River, California.
