Former Virginia standout Treat Huey beat Albert Larregola in three sets on Sunday to win the Virginia State Open Men's Championship.
The match was played on the clay courts at Glenmore Country Club. Huey took the first set 6-3, but Larregola came back and took the second set 6-1. The third set was a hotly-contested one, but in the end, Huey would go on to win the championship.
Huey and former teammate Ted Angelinos will play in the doubles championship Monday morning.
