Charlottesville prepares to host the 15th annual National Basketball Players Association Top 100 Camp this week, as the nation's most talented high school basketball players convene at John Paul Jones Arena. This camp has featured talented players in the past, and promises to do the same during the next five days.

In all, 110 players from all across America are on the camp's roster. Eight of the players hail from Virginia. This camp features training sessions both on and off the court, as players will compete with one another in drills and scrimmages, and also get one-on-one coaching from current and former NBA players. Ralph Sampson, Antonio Daniels, and Brenden Haywood are a few that are slated to assist with the camp this year.

Off the court, players will attend a variety of seminars covering a variety of topics, including stress management, sex education, pressure from recruiters, and dressing for success. The goal of this camp is to prepare players for a high level in all aspects of life.

Some of the best players in the game have attended this camp. The top two overall picks in the 2007 NBA Draft in Greg Oden and Kevin Durant took part. Other players to have participated are Kobe Bryant, Jermaine O'Neal, Richard Jefferson, and Lamar Odom, just to name a few.

The camp tips off on Tuesday and will continue through Saturday at John Paul Jones Arena. Stay tuned to wcav.tv for daily updates.
