The Jefferson Swim League continued its season tonight, as the second week of the 2008 season took place. All 16 teams were in action on Wednesday night at various pools throughout the area.
CBS19 made its way to Farmington Country Club, where the Farmington Frogs were hosting the Crozet Gators. In the end of a closely contested meet, Crozet held on for the 567-469 win. This marked the first scored meet for both teams, as the Gators improve to 1-0.
More than 2,500 young swimmers, ranging in age from four to 17 years old, take the pool every Wednesday night throughout June and July to compete. The season culminates with the Jefferson Swim League Championship Meet, which will be held on July 25th and 26th at the UVa Aquatics and Fitness Center.
This marks the 43rd season of the Jefferson Swim League. The 16 league teams are divided up into three divisions, as teams can earn a regular season division title prior to the league championship meet at UVa.
