David Koehn will be the new director of broadcasting at the University of Virginia, replacing Mac McDonald. Koehn will begin his play-by-play duties beginning this football season. He will begin his duties July 7.

The new Voice of the Cavaliers most recently served as the play-by-play announcer for the University of Vermont, and has experience in radio with minor league baseball, various high schools, and universities such as Texas Lutheran, Sam Houston State, and Kansas. Koehn also spent time in Colorado, covering the Rockies and Broncos.

Koehn is no stranger to the sporting world himself. He was a three time Colorado High School State Tennis Champion. He has hosted many coaches shows, and has anchored and reported on sports in prior experiences.

Koehn replaces Mac McDonald, who departed on April 30, which began a nation wide search for a replacement.
