The University of Virginia announced on Tuesday that Dave Koehn will be the new Director of Broadcasting, and the new Voice of the Cavaliers. Koehn will begin his duties in Charlottesville on July 7.
Koehn joined CBS19 via telephone on Tuesday evening to talk about the move. He is excited about his new position, and looks forward to the move to Charlottesville. He also looks forward to working with Al Groh and Dave Leitao, as he has worked on several coaches shows in the past. Koehn also discusses the opening football game on August 30 vs. USC.
The University of Kansas graduated brings ten years of experience to Charlottesville. He was most recently the play-by-play announcer for the University of Vermont, and also had tenures at Sam Houston State, Texas Lutheran, and Kansas. Koehn has also covered professional teams, such as the Colorado Rockies, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, and San Antonio Spurs.
