For the third time in his career, Adam Nelson will be representing the United States in the Summer Olympics.
Nelson got off to a good start in Saturday's shot put finals. His first throw measured 68 feet 2.25 inches and put him in first place at the time. After falling to fourth place, he came up with a throw of 68 feet 6.5 inches to move into second. He ended up finishing third to qualify for the U.S. Olympic Team.
Nelson will be joined in Beijing by Reese Hoffa and Christian Cantwell.
