Patrick Collins notched his third hit of the day in the bottom of the tenth with the bases loaded, breaking a 4-4 tie, and leading Albemarle Post 74 past Post 156 from Orange, 5-4. It marks Post 74's seventh straight victory.

The two teams entered the night tied for second place in the American Legion District 12 Conference standings, both with 8-3 conference records. With the victory, Albemarle moves to 9-3, 15-4 overall, and keeps pace with first place King George. Orange, meanwhile, does not fall off the map, as they fall to 8-4, 9-6 overall.

This was a rematch of an earlier game that also went down to the wire. Back on June 24, these same two teams met in Orange, with Post 156 grabbing the 7-6 win. That marked the last time that Post 74 tasted defeat, as they have won seven straight since that loss.

The Albemarle American Legion squad will travel to Courtland on Thursday, while Post 156 will welcome Massaponax.
