Adam Nelson stopped by the CBS19 studio today, and sat down for a live interview during CBS19 News at 5:00. The Charlottesville resident is preparing for the Olympic Games, where he will look for a gold medal.
Nelson is coming off consecutive silver medals in the last two Olympics, which he says motivates him for Beijing. He is currently ranked number one in the world with his throw of 22.12 meters. In the interview, Nelson discusses what it is like being the top shot putter in the world, and also discusses his plans for the future.
The gold medal hopeful will depart for his final tune up in Stockholm, Sweden, Saturday afternoon. He'll return to Charlottesville the following week, before departing for China on August 3. Nelson takes the field on August 15, hoping to bring home his first gold medal.
