Norman Leads British Open

July 19, 2008

The last time Greg Norman won the British Open was back in 1993. Fifteen years later, he's on the verge of winning it once again.

Norman shot a +2 over in the third round at Royal Birkdale and is +2 over for the tournament. He has a two shot lead over K.J. Choi and defending champion Padraig Harrington heading into Sunday's final round. Simon Wakefield is also in the hunt at +5 and four others are tied at +7.

Should he hold on to win on Sunday, the 53-year-old Norman would become the oldest player ever to win a major championship.
