Former Cavalier and current Washington National Ryan Zimmerman will rejoin his Washington teammate, after a short minor league rehab assignment. He will be added to the Nationals' roster prior to Tuesday's game against the Giants, though no word yet as to whether or not he will be in the line up.
Zimmerman tore a muscle in his left shoulder on May 18, and has not seen action since May 26. He spent a short stint on the 15 day disable list, and just completed a six game minor league assignment. Zimmerman played two games with Class A Potomac, and just completed a weekend four game series with Class AAA Columbus. The former Cavalier says that he was more concerned with getting back into game shape, rather than performance.
The return of Zimmerman will give Washington a much needed bolster, as he is hitting .257 with eight home runs this year. The Nationals will look to their young franchise player to help them climb out of last place in the National League East.
