For the Virginia Cavalier football team, 2008 has been filled with off the field run-ins with the law. That trend continued this weekend as two Virginia football players were arrested at a local Charlottesville bar Saturday morning.
Junior tackle Will Barker and redshirt freshman guard Dave Roberts were both taken into custody at Club 216 around 3:45am Saturday.
The two players allegedly took beer out of coolers behind a bar in the club that was unoccupied by a bartender. Roberts, only 19-years-old, was also in possession of a fake ID.
Barker and Roberts both face petit larceny charges. Robetst is also charged with the manufacturer or sale of fictitious driver's license and unlawful purchase of alcohol.
Barker is one of only two starters returning on the offensive line, with Jordy Lipsey and Ian-Yates Cunningham graduating and All-American Brandon Albert leaving school early to enter the NFL Draft. Roberts looked to compete for playing time as well.
