Olympic shot putter Adam Nelson stopped by the CBS19 studio on Thursday, and sat down for a live one-on-one interview during CBS19 News at 5:00. Nelson just returned from his final tune up in Europe, and will leave for China on Sunday.
Nelson's trip to Europe was a success, as he won an event in Stockholm, and finished second in London, getting him fired up for the Olympics. He heads to Beijing in search of his first gold medal, after winning the silver medal in both 2000 and 2004. He qualified for the 2008 games by finishing third in the U.S. Olympic Trials, and currently holds the top throw in the world of 22.12 meters this year.
