The Virginia football team has already dealt with a few off-the-field issues this off-season, but as of today, at least one of those issues has been resolved. Senior Cornerback Mike Brown, who was arrested back in March, has officially been dismissed from the team.
Brown just appeared in court back on July 24th. He faces multiple charges including grand larceny and possession of marijuana. The Newark, NJ native missed the entire 2007 season with a knee injury and has been a non-participating member of the team since March.
Brown played in every game in 2005 and 2006, and had 31 tackles and 14 punt returns during his time at Virginia. The UVa football team begins practice Monday.
