The Virginia athletics department hosted its annual Virginia Fall Sports Experience Sunday.
The event allowed children and fans of all ages the opportunity to interact and receive skill instruction from UVa student-athletes and coaches in the sports of cross country, field hockey, soccer and volleyball.
The Virginia Fall Sports Experience took place at the University Hall Turf Field from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Virginia's student-athletes provided skill instruction in their respective sports and were also be available for photos and autographs.
"We try to do a lot in the community. I think that's one of the benefits of a community like Charlottesville, you get this personal interaction with the kids, and you get your players involved and a part of things," said UVa. Women's Soccer Coach, Steve Swanson.
The event included plenty of activities for young Cavalier fans including a kid's zone featuring face painting and inflatables, and all fans in attendance had the opportunity to win door prizes.
Fans were also able to pick up 2008 schedule posters and schedule cards for cross country, field hockey, men's soccer, women's soccer and volleyball.
